High flood to hit Kotri Barrage today, cautions official

KRACHI; Subsequent to causing far reaching obliterations and fatalities in various areas of Sindh, Punjab and different pieces of the country, a high surge of 560,000 cusecs will go through Kotri Barrage today, said Sukkur Barrage control room in-control.

Sukkur Barrage was in high flood as the repository got streams of 600,000 cusecs of water from Taunsa Barrage, said the authority.

He kept up with that 29,000 cusecs of water has been added to the repository during the beyond 24 hours.

Considering the normal flood, every one of the waterways beginning from the torrent have been shut for a unidentified period, he added.

A progression of 559,998 cusecs was recorded upstream, while the downstream stream was 559,998 cusecs, said the authority.

The high flood was going towards Kotri Barrage, he added.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Kotri Barrage had an inflow of 513669 cusecs upstream and 503464 cusecs downstream at 6am today.

Death toll from floods tops 1200 mark..

Almost 57 individuals have kicked the bucket in 24 hours as the floods attacked the nation, as per National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Of the all out figure, 38 alone lost their lives in Sindh, 17 in KP and one each in Balochistan and AJK, says the NDMA.

The general loss of life from the overwhelming floods, which have impacted millions the nation over, crossed 1,200 imprint.
